We design scenarios, brief and run simulation days, and train the trust's own staff to debrief well. Our work spans postgraduate crisis training, undergraduate teaching, induction for new doctors, and technology-led programmes using VR and part-task trainers.
Everything we run maps to a recognised framework — ANTS, Crisis Resource Management, ASPiH standards, or a royal college curriculum — so learning translates directly to practice on the ward.
Designing safer systems from the ground up.
At Barts Simulation, we bridge the gap between Human Factors and Ergonomics (HFE) and systems engineering to prospectively design safer, more efficient work environments. Rather than waiting for errors to occur and retroactively applying solutions, our proactive approach analyses how people, equipment, workflows, and organisational cultures interact in real time. By embedding human-centred design principles into healthcare and high-stakes systems from the outset, we help teams anticipate operational bottlenecks, reduce cognitive overload, and streamline complex workflows. Through immersive, in-situ simulation and rigorous systems testing, we empower organisations to shape resilient environments where clinical excellence and human performance naturally thrive.
